Changemakers — Group Recovery from Narcissistic Abuse

A structured group programme for recovering from narcissistic abuse and toxic relationships — created and led by Keeley Taverner, BACP Accredited psychotherapist. Formerly Navigate Narcissism NOW.

BACP Accredited Therapist-led group Narcissistic abuse specialist Confidential & supportive

Narcissistic abuse recovery can feel like an isolating journey — as though no one else truly understands what you've been through. The Changemakers group therapy programme brings you together with others who do, in a structured, supportive space led by a therapist who specialises in this work.

Changemakers (formerly Navigate Narcissism NOW) is Keeley Taverner's flagship group narcissistic abuse recovery programme. It blends psychoeducation, reflection and peer support to help you understand what happened, rebuild your confidence and move forward — at a pace that respects where you are.

What is Changemakers?

Changemakers is a guided group recovery programme for people who have experienced narcissistic abuse, coercive control or a toxic relationship — whether with a partner, parent, family member or colleague. It's a space to learn, to be heard, and to grow alongside others who understand.

Changemakers is a structured, therapist-led group programme that combines learning about narcissistic abuse and coercive control with reflective exercises and peer support — to help you understand your experience and rebuild your sense of self.

Who Changemakers is for

The programme may be a good fit if you recognise yourself in some of these:

  • You've left, or are working through, a relationship that left you doubting yourself
  • You want to understand the patterns of narcissistic abuse and coercive control
  • You'd value learning alongside others who genuinely understand
  • You're ready to rebuild your confidence, boundaries and sense of self
  • You'd find a structured programme more supportive than going it alone

Changemakers is a group support and education programme. It isn't a substitute for individual therapy or for urgent help — if you're in crisis, please use the support listed at the foot of this page.

What Changemakers group therapy covers

Each Changemakers cohort works through themes that come up again and again in narcissistic abuse recovery. Whether you're searching for a group therapy programme near you or support online, Changemakers runs as a video-based group so you can join from anywhere in the UK. Together we explore:

  • Understanding the pattern — recognising narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, trauma bonding and coercive control.
  • Rebuilding self-trust — learning to trust your own perceptions and feelings again.
  • Boundaries — practical tools to protect your energy and wellbeing.
  • Processing what happened — making sense of your experience in a safe, supported space.
  • Moving forward — reconnecting with who you are and what you want next.
Realising other people had lived through the same things — and being able to say it out loud — was the moment things started to shift for me.

Common questions

Changemakers — your questions

Is Changemakers therapy or a course?

It's a structured group recovery programme — a blend of education, reflection and peer support, led by a qualified therapist. It complements, but doesn't replace, individual therapy.

Do I have to have left the relationship to take part?

No. People join at different stages. Changemakers is a space to make sense of your experience at your own pace — there's no pressure to make any particular decision.

Is it confidential?

Yes. The group works to clear confidentiality and ground rules, within the limits of professional ethics and safeguarding. We talk these through before you begin.

How much does Changemakers cost?

Programme fees are shared during your free discovery call and in the brochure, as cohorts and formats vary. The discovery call itself is free and there's no obligation.

How do I find out more?

Download the brochure for the full picture, or book a free 30-minute call with Keeley to ask anything before you decide.

In crisis or need urgent support?

Changemakers is a group support programme, not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For confidential support around domestic abuse, the National Domestic Abuse Helpline is free, 24/7, on 0808 2000 247. For urgent emotional support, the Samaritans are on 116 123, or call NHS 111.
